ABOUT US

Jack and Jill of America, Incorporated

Jack and Jill boasts 262 chapters nationwide, representing more than 50,000 family members. Each chapter plans annual programming activities guided under a general five point programmatic thrust: cultural awareness, educational development, health (education and advocacy), civic (legislative advocacy and service) and social/recreational areas. Through service projects, Jack and Jill of America creates a medium of contact for children to stimulate their growth and development. Through lobbying, educational programming, dissemination of education materials, and the organization of community and charitable events, Jack and Jill has promoted the public awareness and interests of children including child development, child growth, child quality of life, child care and the promotion of children’s rights.

Recognizing our rich heritage, both locally and nationally, the Chapter has continued this wonderful tradition established by our founders. By sponsoring numerous educational projects, cultural programs, and social activities over the years, the Chapter has provided a means for increasing educational awareness among our youth, assisted in their growth, and encouraged an appreciation of our culture. A continued commitment and attention to serving the needs of our community instils the value of service in our youth.

With the legacy of the mothers before us, and our commitment to collective work, the current mothers of the Columbia Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Incorporated, have harnessed the power to change the lives of our own children, and others in our community. Working together, “We Can do More”.

The Columbia Chapter has donated over $100,000 in scholarships through the most recent years. These awards have been make primarily through the Columbia Chapter Biennial Beautillion, founded to celebrate youth leadership. Community Service projects have included but not limited to:
